Pasco County Shows Up: Neighbors and Businesses Rally for Cobalt Apartments Families

When tragedy struck the Cobalt Apartments community, Pasco County did what it does best: people showed up. Neighbors, volunteers and local businesses came together to collect, move and safely store truckloads of donated items for families affected by the fire.

Many Hands Made the Difference

Amanda Weaver and First Day Ready helped organize the effort, turning an outpouring of generosity into a coordinated response. Volunteers worked side by side sorting supplies, moving boxes and making sure donations reached a secure location where they could continue helping families.

Local Businesses Stepped Up Too

StoreRight Self Storage – Land O Lakes provided storage space for the donations. Tampa VETS Junk Removal + Dumpsters, Bull Moving of Tampa and UR Cabinets CFL contributed trucks, labor and hands-on support. Goodwill workers also assisted as the community moved a remarkable amount of donated clothing, household goods and other essentials.

The People Behind the Work

Jose A. Roldan Jr. helped share and document the effort, while Wanda Perkins and many other community members volunteered their time. Some people organized. Some lifted boxes. Some donated transportation or storage. Others simply arrived ready to help wherever they were needed.

More Than Moving Boxes

Every box represented someone choosing to care. Every truckload showed what can happen when neighbors and businesses combine their resources. The work was physical, but the message behind it was even bigger: families facing a devastating loss were not going to face it alone.
